Visited for dinner with family and friends. New owners have improved the place massively. Had the Shank Pie, which was the biggest pie I&#39;ve ever seen! Food was delicious and the service was fast and the staff friendly. Will visit again next time we&#39;re in town!

A restaurant with a bit of a family feeling, but the food is not so likable, a bit of taste is biased. But for the sake of service, it is still possible.

It&#39;s hard to beat a nice country drive that ends up with lunch at the Tatong Tavern. People will travel from Melbourne or from many miles away within the north-east to enjoy a meal here. The bikers dining in the spring sunshine outside praised their pie, chips and salad. Chris &amp; Debbie are warm and hospitable hosts. The tavern has a great atmosphere and decor - the pictures on the wall proudly display the history of the region. 4 of us visited for Sunday lunch and all enjoyed our meals. The batter on my fish and chips was beautifully light and the meal good. However, the tartare sauce could have been tangier - it was a little too sweet. My wife wanted to order the pie the bikers had recommended and found we had to go to use the extra counter menu. As the hosts were happy to serve meals from both the table and counter menu to our table, why not combine them? Our friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

If you are looking for a drive in the country and a pleasant meal this is not a bad spot . The menu is quite extensive and food good and reasonably priced.

Stopped in for lunch and sat outside in the lush, peaceful gardens. Change of menu since our last visit, not so pricey now and small plate options. Once again a lovely meal and we never go away hungry, just relaxed and satisfied.
